A Step towards one Nation one software




Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur Ji launched National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme on a pilot basis in Shimla (Urban) and Kumarsain Tehsil of Shimla district in first instance for online registration of land records here today.

System would facilitate the speedy registration online valuation and payments:
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that this would facilitate speedy registration in the State besides facilitating online valuation and payment. He said that after the successful implementation of this pilot project it would be rolled out throughout the State.
Jai Ram Thakur Ji said that citizens would be facilitated to Make request online registration, stamp duty calculation and email enabled alerts to the citizens and users. He said that this would ensure a check on any tampering with revenue records. He said that the system would also help in the effective maintenance of revenue records for the benefit of the landowners.

                              Need to replace old systems with Modern and effective system:

Chief Minister said that the system would also go a long way ineffective dealing with land-related issues and lessen the unnecessary litigation in revenue related matters. He said that the NGDRS would also help in avoiding duplicate usages of stamp paper. He said that the copy of the registered document would be stored using scanning technology and the downloaded document could be viewed by generating certified copy by authorized users.
Jai Ram Thakur Ji  said that the landowners and buyers could make payment of stamp duty and registration fee through online mode. He said that Himachal Pradesh has become the 7th State of Country to have implemented this project. He said that this was a step forward in visualizing the dream of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘One Nation One Software’.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also handed over the first computerized land registry to the landowners Rakesh Kumar and Meena.
Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India Ajay Prakash Sawhney while addressing the meeting through video conferencing from New Delhi said that the NGDRS was a uniform software being used throughout the country for benefit of the users. He said that the facility of Digilock has also been provided so that consumers could digit lock their important documents.
Principal Secretary, Revenue Onkar Chand Sharma while welcoming the Chief Minister and others, detailed various salient features of this pilot project.
Joint Secretary, Department of Land Records Hukum Singh Meena and State Informatics Officer, NIC Ajay Singh Chahal also spoke on the occasion.
Director Land Records cum Inspector General of Registration   Deva Singh Negi presented the vote of thanks.
Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Director Information and Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon and other senior officers were also present on the occasion among others.
